US Close 28 Mar 17: Dow off for the 8th straight trading session

US blue-chip shares fell on Monday. Investors assessed the chances for President Trump to advance tax reform given the failure to reform the healthcare system. But bargain hunters were also active at the day's lows. The Dow Jones index fell by almost 46 points or 0.2% after being down 184 points at one stage. The S&P 500 index fell by 0.1% but the Nasdaq was up almost 12 points or 0.2%.
