If Wounds Could Speak

The wound raises its hand and says, “I have something to say”, and proudly proceeds to reveal its wisdom:

“When I was first created, I was raw and vulnerable and needed much protection. I needed time to heal. I did not know if I would ever heal because the hurt went so deep. I started building a wall, a scab around myself.

But I kept getting hurt and re-wounded: with every trigger, with each word that rubbed me the wrong way and created friction, and by the pain I felt because your closed heart did not see me and love me.

As you toggled between hot and cold, you either ignored me and offered me no love, or you suffocated me and over-identified with the incident that caused me pain. I had no space to heal.

When you decided to begin this journey of awareness, you finally saw me and acknowledged me for the wound that I was. With your acceptance, your compassion and forgiveness, I started to speak through your heart and share my wisdom.”

The wisdom from the wound allows us to live beyond the wound.

It says that it’s ok to not be okay, and it says…

“Go on and look, it’s okay to see now because you are seeing with eyes of love.”
