In continuation of the Genesis series, Oluwajoba Oroge traced how God’s redemptive plan moves from Shem to Abram. It showed that God's election is intentional, not based on human merit but rooted in His covenant promises. God chose Abram out of many, shaping history to bring about His purposes through one man.
Abram’s background in Ur — a land of idols and false gods — highlights the radical nature of God’s call. He was asked to leave behind his land, people, and identity in exchange for God’s promise of blessing and a new purpose. His obedience, though imperfect, was marked by faith and worship, showing how true faith responds to revelation.
The sermon concluded by pointing to Jesus as the fulfilment of this covenant. Just as Abram obeyed God’s call, Christ answered the ultimate call — stepping out of glory to redeem humanity. Now, we are the people of this covenant, called to respond in faith, lay down our lives, and follow Him.
