Morning Report 25 Jan 22: US sharemarkets recovered spectacularly from session lows

US sharemarkets recovered spectacularly from session lows on Monday. There were fears that this week's Federal Reserve meeting would lay the groundwork for a rate hike as early as March. At the close, the Dow Jones index was up by 99 points or 0.3% after earlier being down 1,115 points or 3.3%. The S&P 500 index rose by 0.3%. And the Nasdaq index rose by 86 points or 0.6% after being down 4.9% in the session.
