Wake Up Tri-Counties IRS Agent Michael Divine Talks Filing Season and What You Need to Know

Michael Divine from the Internal Revenue Service was our guest on Wake Up Tri-Counties on Wednesday, March 1st, 2023. Michael joined WKEI to talk about a fast start to the filing season as hundreds of thousands of Americans have already begun to file taxes and get tax refunds. According to Michael, if you have not filed yet, there are some things to remember before you do such as making sure you have the correct forms to file, making certain you update anything that has changed since you last filed your taxes whether it was a move to a new home or other such significant life change that might affect your tax filing. Michael also reminds everyone that this year's Tax Deadline is not the traditional April 15th. Instead, you have until April 18th to file your taxes without penalties.
