Morning Report 27 Jan 21: Wall St edges lower ahead of key earnings reports

US sharemarkets edged lower on Tuesday as investors considered new Covid 19 variants and hurdles to an additional US stimulus package. At the close of trade, the Dow Jones index fell by 23 points or 0.1%. The S&P 500 index lost 0.2% and the Nasdaq index was down by 10 points or 0.1%.
