Thotaka Ashtakam – For Knowledge and Moksha

Thotaka Ashtakam  was composed by Giri, a renowned disciple of Adi Shankara. He was also called Thotakacharya. It comprises 8 verses. Giri was a dull disciple who gained all knowledge through the grace of his Guru. This Ashtakam glorifies Adi Shankara, his Guru, and seeks his blessings. By chanting this Ashtakam regularly, one can invoke the blessings of the Guru to receive divine knowledge and attain Moksha. Guru Adi Shankara is believed to be an incarnation of Lord Shiva himself.
