LREF 2017: “Corporate follows cool,” Canary Wharf Group leasing associate Tarun Mathur told an LREF audience in a panel discussion about the future of the residential and office market in the area.
New District, the next phase of development at Canary Wharf formerly known as Wood Wharf, will provide over 3,500 new homes, nearly 2 million sq ft of commercial office space, and a further 350,000 sq ft of retail over 22 acres.
The majority of Canary Wharf’s workforce are now millennials, due in large part to its proximity to Tower Hamlets, which is the fastest-growing London borough by population and salary.
The panel included:
James Heyworth-Dunne, Partner – Central London, Cushman & Wakefield
John O’Mara, Associate, Project Director, Herzog & de Meuron
David Hatcher, Finance Editor, EG (Chair)
Tarun Mather, Leasing Associate, Canary Wharf Group
