Mid-Session 7 Mar 19: Aussie shares lift to 6-month highs

The Australian sharemarket is up for the sixth time in seven days and has hit a six-month high thanks to gains across most sectors. BHP Billiton (BHP), Rio Tinto (RIO) and South32 (S32) are all trading ex-dividend.
