 What has Amos been teaching so far? Has he been saying "saved today, lost tomorrow?". It looks that way. He has made it clear they are the redeemed of God, but he has come to the point where he has held over their heads the prospect of unrelieved sorrow, inescapable sentence of death, and the darkness of hopelessness in the day of the Lord. 
But to whom is Amos speaking? Is he speaking a word to us today?
