Kewanee Mayor Gary Moore was our guest on Wake Up Tri-Counties on Tuesday, August 9th, 2022. The Mayor joined WKEI to discuss Monday night's Kewanee City Council Meeting. At the meeting, the Council approved a road closure for Courtyard Estates for an event they are holding on August 28th. The Council then made the final decision regarding North Cottage between 5th and 6th Streets. The council voted 5 to 0 in favor of not upgrading the empty road to a street and will not try to qualify the space as an alley as some had suggested. The Mayor also discussed the long term savings that should come from a pair of upgrades set to occur on Kewanee's water treatment plant and water treatment infrastructure. Finally, there was a tabled vote regarding reimbursing a portion of cell phone use for top level City Hall employees. The Council has requested more information on the plan for the next Kewanee City Council Meeting.
