Annie Börjesson was a 30-year-old Swedish woman living in Edinburgh, Scotland. On December 4th, 2005, Annie’s body was found face down on Prestwick Beach, nearly 80 miles from her flat in Edinburgh. Police immediately ruled her death as a suicide, however, when Annie’s family received her body for burial, she was covered in bruises. On top of this, the police’s suicide verdict depended on a single witness and poor-quality CCTV footage. Annie’s family continue to campaign for a new investigation to find out what really happened to their daughter, but their requests have been denied time and time again. If this really was just a suicide, what do the police and authorities have to hide?
