Joe Joe Morris grew up in the Mennonite religion from the age of five throughout his teens.  His parents, who had an interest in homeschooling and off-the-grid living, were soon immersed in this religion that enabled them to be self-sufficient and focus on their values.  He lived in tight-knit communities, working the family farm and enjoying the yearly Mennonite gathering that brought hundreds of people together for outdoor fun according to old traditions.
