Satan tempts Jesus three times. Once by commanding stones into bread, once by promising him the kingdoms of the world if Jesus will fall down and worship him, and once taking him to the pinnacle of the Temple and tell him to throw himself down. Jesus rebukes all of these temptations by responding with the Word of God. Each time stating “It is written”; He begins to minister in Galilee and the asks that Simon called Peter, Andrew, James and John follow him. Jesus heals a great multitude in Galilee. Jesus is rejected in Nazareth. Jesus tells the people in the synagogue that Elijah during the famine of 3.5 years only healed the widow in Zarephath in Sidon, likewise Elisha only healed the leper Naaman the Syrian, despite there being many lepers in Israel; Jesus casts out the unclean spirit; He heals Peter’s mother-in-law from a fever; He heals many after the Sabbath; He preached in many synagogues in Galilee.
