Today we are talking about a sensitive topic. Itās suicide prevention month; and as a mental health professional, I think itās important to highlight the topic. If you or someone you know struggle with suicidal thoughts and need help, call the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline at 988.Ā
As we wrap up our episodes to highlight Suicide Awarness/Prevention Month, I have a special guest, Katina L. Adams, who is here to share her experience with losing the love of her life to suicide. She shares her journey from her sufferings to her victories.Ā Ā
A little about Katina. Katina is indeed a child of God. She is the mother of 3 beautiful girls. She is a passionate real estate agent with Keller Williams. Sheās also working on her Masterās Degree in Clinical Mental Health and is really close to finishing, and she has done lots of work to spread awareness about suicide prevention.Ā
Katinaās story may make you shed tears but also make you realize that we are all more resilient than we think. And if you lost a loved one to suicide, Katinaās story will give you hope that brighter days are ahead.Ā

A message from Katina
š In case you didnāt know, September is Suicide Awareness and Prevention month. September 10th is Suicide Awareness and Prevention Day, which we wear yellow for. š This is something near and dear to me as my husband and father of my daughters died by suicide 10 years ago. For years now, I have advocated and worked with the Bayou Region Out of the Darkness Walk. The Walk this year is Saturday, October 1st from 9-12 noon. Itās a wonderful experience for everyone, children welcome. I have created a team with my daughters. If anyone would like to join us please do. If anyone would like to create a team, you can do that as well. You can also donate. Iāll share the links below. If anyone has questions, please donāt hesitate to ask.Ā
All I ask through this month is to be kind, you really never know what someone is going through!Ā
Ā ā¤ļø I love you all. ā¤ļø
Thank you for being a huge, wonderful part of my journey. And a special thank you to those noticing my posts and checking in. The girls and I are doing very well. We are actually the strongest both mentally and physically that we have ever been. Iām simply spreading hope and reassuring many that they are not alone. We truly appreciate all of your love, support, and continued prayers.Ā
