Passing Through the Jordan to Reach Bethlehem

A homily for the second Sunday of Advent (Year A), by Bishop Thomas Daly: John the Baptist rouses us out of spiritual complacency through his unflinching call to repentance. We must pass through the Jordan on our way to Bethlehem so that our repentance can lead us to the rejoicing of Christ’s entrance into our hearts.
