飛行機乗るのは二酸化炭素排出量が大きい、非効率的な移動手段ですから、グレたさんは完全に飛行機をやめた・・・なのに私は来週イギリスまで飛行機乗っちゃう・・・について検討と反省するエピソードです!
Flying has a really big carbon footprint, and Greta Thunberg has quit flying completely because of this...but next week I’m flying to England with my children – in this episode I reflect on this a bit.

TRANSCRIPT:
Everything we do, from the food we eat, products we buy to the way we travel, releases greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, and so has an impact on the planet’s climate.
Around 2.4% of global CO2 emissions come from aviation. Together with other gases and the water vapour trails produced by aircraft, the industry is responsible for around 5% of global warming.
only a very small percentage of the world flies frequently
just 3% of the global population take regular flights
A return flight from London to San Francisco emits around 5.5 tonnes of CO2 equivalent (CO2e) per person – more than twice the emissions produced by a family car in a year,
While improving fuel efficiency is gradually reducing the emissions per passenger, it is not keeping up with the rapid increase in total passenger numbers,
driving with one other person will certainly be better than a plane
Maybe we should use video calls instead of flying to meetings.
There's carbon offsets, however, it is hard to ever be sure an offset will permanently “absorb” the emissions your flight gives out.
Offsetting just can't be a long-term solution
