That’s the warning from the Fine Gael MEP Mairead McGuinness.
The European Commission president unveiled details of the EU’s ambitious covid recovery fund during an address to the European Parliament yesterday.
Ursula von der leyen’s commission is proposing a mix of five hundred billion (€500bn) in grants and two hundred and fifty billion (€250bn) in loans to help EU countries, regions and sectors cope with the economic fallout of the pandemic.
