14 Dec 18 US Pre Close Report - US stocks give up gains despite progress on trade

US sharemarkets were mixed on Thursday as investors digested recent US-China trade developments. Shares of Under Armour fell by 6.6% after the sportswear maker forecast 2019 revenue growth and profit below analyst estimates. Procter & Gamble rose by 2.5% after Bank of America Merrill Lynch upgraded the consumer goods maker's stock to "buy" from "neutral". General Electric rose 7.1% after JP Morgan upgraded the stock to "neutral". An hour before the close of trade, the Dow Jones was up near 30 points or 0.1%, having lifted by near 200 points earlier in the session. The S&P500 index was down 0.2% and the Nasdaq index fell by around 40 points or 0.5%.
