This week on American Real we welcome to the set, world renowned artist, Giles Alexander. I continue to be amazed by the context of conversation that takes place when sitting across from a fellow human being. Giles provides a rare view into the depth of his work, which includes his fascination and understanding of nature and the cosmos. In the artist’s statement from his recent exhibit titled; “Eternity. Far Away. So Close.” he says, “This body of work continues to reflect upon existential themes: Who are we? What is our place in the grander scheme? Is there a knowable truth?” He goes on the say,” In my practice, along with figurative clarity, I am compelled by what cannot be seen, or can be seen only with technology.” We discuss his unique technique, the necessity of failure in order to grow and, “The privilege of Practicing.”
