Morning Report 5 Nov 19: Record highs as trade hopes rise

US sharemarket indexes were in record territory on Monday with investors hopeful about US-China trade negotiations. Technology and energy stocks led the way. With just over an hour of trade to go the Dow Jones was up by 102 points or 0.4%. The S&P 500 was up by 0.4% and the Nasdaq rose by 54 points or 0.6%.
