Mid-Session 8 Nov 2021: ASX treads water as gains for miners balance bank weakness

Initial gains became modest losses for the ASX 200 after sellers took advantage of modest gains. Miners have fared best this morning, particularly gold names which have dominated the most improved list. Banks have been an impost on the market with ANZ & MQG each going ex-dividend.
