Market Close 18 April 19: ASX 200 ends with a small gain thanks to recovery for the lenders

A turnaround for bank stocks helped the ASX 200 to a gain of 3 points. Healthcare led sector losses while Energy and Telecoms were the most improved. A range of names saw big improvements on the back of company updates, including Kogan & Bubs. The Aussie dollar was boosted by better than expected jobs growth.
