Prior to joining Adani in April 2018, Lucas held senior roles in global organisations including CEO and Asset President for BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance and VP of Operations and Director at South 32. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering and in his early career held operational and management roles in thermal and metallurgical coal operations.
