In this episode of the Pacey Performance Podcast I am speaking to Head of Sports Science at Southampton Football Club, Alek Gross. Alek has been on my hit list for a while now and with the football off-season I was able to stalk him and get him on for a chat. Alek has an interesting background, coming from rugby league and into football which doesn't happen very often so it was great to get his views on some important issues.

• With the high profile explosive players that have come through the academy and since left, Walcott etc, it would be interesting to hear how you manage them sort of explosive players.

• With your recent forays in Europe it would be cool to discuss how your practice differs with increased fixtures and demand on the players.
• Also, maybe what you have brought over from your rugby days into the football environment.
