💁🏻 Concept: Predestination: Arminianism vs Calvinism
Arminianism holds that predestination is based on God’s foreknowledge of who would freely choose to believe in Christ. It emphasizes human free will, conditional election, and the possibility of falling away.
Calvinism, on the other hand, teaches that predestination is God’s sovereign and unconditional choice of certain individuals for salvation, based solely on His will and grace, not on any foreseen faith or human merit. It includes both election and reprobation, highlighting God’s justice and mercy.
While both affirm God’s foreknowledge, they differ on how divine sovereignty and human responsibility interact.
