Substitution: The Scandal of the Gospel | Matthew 27:11-26

A sermon by Pastor Tim Vusik from Matthew 27:11-26.

Since His arrest in the Garden, Jesus has been bounced from one trial to the next because no one could find any guilt in Him. Finally, as the council hands Him over to Pilate, the stage is set for the greatest scandal in history, which also illustrates substitutionary atonement: the innocent is convicted, and the guilty are released!

Big Idea: The first-century Israel chose the wrong “son” so that sinners in every century would delight in a right Savior.
