WKWC 90.3 First Sign On - January 21st 1983

Forty years ago, January 21st 1983, Kentucky Wesleyan College's WKWC 90.3 signed on for the first time at 7 p.m. (CST). We celebrate the legacy of WKWC, Gary Drum and the college's dream of providing "Community Radio" to the city of Owensboro on the Campus. Listen to Gary sign the station on with a plethora of guests and community leaders from around Owensboro, including then President of the college, Dr. Luther White. The radio station still broadcasts proudly on the campus and is proud to say we're still owned and operated by its original owner!! We think Gary and everyone involved to bring WKWC to life would be proud.
