Mid-Session 18 July 19: Local shares retreat in early trade after mixed jobs report

The ASX 200 has given up a good portion of yesterday’s gains, following on from a weaker session for US stocks overnight. The June un-employment was short of expectations for jobs growth, although the un-employment rate was in line with expectations. In sector terms, technology names were the most improved, while energy names were the opposite.
