If you are so inclined, you can always find dozens of reasons why something can’t or shouldn’t be done — and precious few why it should or could. It is far easier to rationalize that it’s too difficult, too expensive, or too time-consuming than to accept the idea that if we are willing to work hard enough, smart enough, and long enough we can accomplish anything. Here are a recap and some additional thoughts from the call...
- What parts or part of the business do you not really enjoy?
- Why do we dislike that portion of the business?
- As we approach the end of the year and enter the new year... what parts of the business will you avoid? Be very specific in your answer!
- What parts of the training or coaching that you are going through is the hardest for you?
- Do you have somebody who is willing to be confrontational with you?
- If the market slows down ... Can I still have the present rate of growth in my business?
Without a question having others to support you in your growth well having a great market is very helpful ... the challenges we become dependent on others and on the market.
We must look to be independent of those things while having an interdependent relationship, so we have better control of our results. If these things change in a positive manner that's great and if not, we are typically on our own to figure a solution out. Therefore, it's incumbent upon us to take responsibility and address the questions above so we are more fluid in our psychology, our skills and actions.
Some final thoughts when you are faced with a challenge or change most especially when we are looking to be independent in our businesses.
Here are some steps to take:
- Identify the change or the challenge
- What's it costing me in my business?
- What are 4 or 5 solutions?
- What's the timetable for taking the necessary actions?
- Do them daily!
Let's keep in mind that there is always a solution when you take the time to think and act upon any challenge or obstacle that you are faced with.
