Exodus 15:26 - “If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you.”
Psalm 6:2-3
Body: Have mercy on me, Lord, for I am faint;
Soul: Heal me, Lord, for my bones are in agony.
Spirit: My soul is in deep anguish. How long, Lord, how long?
1. God Heals Us Emotionally
Psalm 34:18 - If your heart is broken, you’ll find God right there; if you’re kicked in the gut, he’ll help you catch your breath.
Psalm 30:5 – For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the
Psalm 43:5 – Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.
2. God Heals Us PhysicallyIsaiah 53:4 – Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows [can be translated pain or sickness]; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. [5] But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.
Matthew 8:14 - Now when Jesus had come into Peter’s house, He saw his wife’s mother lying sick with a fever. [15] So He touched her hand, and the fever left her. And she arose and served them. [16] When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, [17] that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: “He Himself took our infirmities And bore our sicknesses.”
1 Peter 2:24 - [Jesus] bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.
3. God Heals Us SpirituallyEphesians 4:4 – But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, [5] even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), [6] and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.
Ephesians 4:8 – For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, [9] not of works, lest anyone should boast.
