Episode 3 – Young Adult Life Orientation (Acceptance and Affirmation)
16 June in SA is National Youth Day. South Africa today Celebrates National Youth Day.
Background of Youth Day - began on 16 June 1976 and today has become a national day of celebrating youth of all race groups in South Africa. What started out as a protect against apartheid in SA in 1976, has now become a celebration of uplifting, empowering and making way for Youth to participate in the mainstream economy giving young people purpose, and livelihood.
Women of Africa Care introduces our Young Adult Life Orientation vision in the month of June, addressing life orientation programmes for young girls ages 15-20
Our vision is seeing “empowered young girls aged 15-20 throughout the African, American and Australian continent who have purpose, are inspired by vision, and are framed by etiquette & ethics.”
YALO interventions have a desired outcome “You raise a woman, you raise a community,” You raise the youth, you raise the next generation.”
YALO Mission – is “to empower a generation of young girls across the globe, our empowerment framework features ethical conduct and embracing femininity. This we will achieve by instilling positive values in the hearts of our young women for generations to come, through various educational programs and boot camps.”
H.A.S. Hear-Act-Speak
Affirmation, Acceptance is part of our human need. Where we obtain affirmation and acceptance can make us or break us. God is the best place where you should receive your affirmation because God is love and perfect love casts out all fear. God is a loving Daddy and His acceptance and love for us is unconditional.
Biblical Guidance to remain pure is applying God’s word - Psalm 119-9-16
How can a young person stay on the path of purity?
By living according to your word.
10 I seek you with all my heart;
do not let me stray from your commands.
11 I have hidden your word in my heart
that I might not sin against you.
12 Praise be to you, Lord;
teach me your decrees.
13 With my lips I recount
all the laws that come from your mouth.
14 I rejoice in following your statutes
as one rejoices in great riches.
15 I meditate on your precepts
and consider your ways.
16 I delight in your decrees;
I will not neglect your word.
Isaiah 49.15-16
Can a mother forget the baby at her breast
and have no compassion on the child she has borne?
Though she may forget,
I will not forget you!
16 See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands;
your walls are ever before me.
