After John had his encounter/revelation with the resurrected ascended glorified Jesus Christ, he was released from Patmos and carried this message back to the Church. This wonderful message has been going forth to the church for 2000 years. This revelation isn't ancient history, it's not future, it's been happening ever since God gave it.
