Sexagesima - The Holy Spirit As Sanctifier

Now within 60 days of the Pesach (as of Wednesday just gone) we celebrate the Holy Spirit as Sanctifier... looking forward to the preparation for the great festival of Easter.  How does the Spirit sanctify and what is our part in that? What is sanctifying and why is it a good idea we care about it?
