US Close 16 Dec 16: Stronger US dollar and stronger markets while gold fell.

US sharemarkets rebounded on Thursday but were of their highs in late trade. Ten of the major 11 S&P sectors were higher with the financial index leading the gains, up 1%. Goldman Sachs rose 1.5%. Yahoo lost 4.8% after reporting a second data breach that raised fears Verizon might walk away from the deal to buy its core internet business.  At the close of trade, the Dow Jones index was higher by 60 points or 0.3%. The S&P 500 index was up by 0.4%, while the Nasdaq rose by 20 points or 0.4%.
