Market Close 23 Oct 18: ASX 200 tumbles 1% amid geopolitical tensions

The Energy sector fell 3.2% today after the government announced it would toughen rules on energy retailers to curb rising household energy bills. The ASX 200 dropped 1% or 31 points to 5,843 as geopolitical tensions continue to weigh on sentiment.
