Morning Report 30 Sep 20: US sharemarkets fell on Tuesday

Investors awaited the first presidential debate. Energy and financials fell the most. Investors also looked to square positions near the end of the quarter. But favourable economic data provided support for markets. The Dow Jones index fell by 131 points or 0.5% after earlier being down 246 points. The S&P500 index was 0.5% lower and the Nasdaq index fell by 32 points or 0.3%.
