Social Media as a Lifeline: Insights from Shawn Teasley
On this episode of the Make Mental Health Matter Show with host Kelli Melissa Reinhardt, with special guest Shawn Teasley.
Little bit about Shawn’s story from her:
I work at the intersection of marketing and mental health awareness, and one area I’m especially passionate about is the fine line between social media and its impact on our well-being. Boundaries around how we use these platforms are critical, but social media is also one of the most powerful ways to get mental health resources into people’s hands. With September being Suicide Awareness Month, I’m especially mindful of how awareness days like Suicide Prevention Day can spark education, support, and meaningful conversations. I believe we can use these platforms not just for connection, but as lifelines to normalize mental health discussions and ensure more people know they’re not alone.
