Johnson “going to the wire” without proposals – Fitzgerald

MEPs in the European Parliament have today been debating the UK’s withdrawal from the EU. The debate followed speeches by both the president of the European Commission and the EU’s chief Brexit negotiator.

Both Jean-Claude Juncker and Michel Barnier stressed the EU was willing to work night and day with the UK to break the Brexit impasse. However Mr Juncker warned the risk of a no deal is palpable.

The Fine Gael MEP Frances Fitzgerald says Boris Johnson’s failure to provide any new proposals is amazing.
