Hebrews 10:11–14 highlights the contrast between the endless sacrifices of the Old Testament priests and Christ’s one, perfect, and final sacrifice for sin. The Levitical offerings could only cover sin temporarily, but Jesus’ single offering on the cross completely removed sin and “perfected for all time those who are being sanctified.” This means that believers are already positionally perfect before God—fully justified and accepted—while still being practically sanctified in daily life. The passage assures Christians that Christ’s finished work has secured their eternal perfection even as they continue to grow in holiness.
