Critical Race Theory: Controversial Buzzword or Vital Critique?

Currently, used as a political buzzword to describe an education movement, critical race theory has taken on a life of its own since it’s formation in the 1980s from earlier origins in the 1960s and ‘70s. What is there to fear when addressing the country’s institutions from historically encompassing perspective?
