US Close 2 Sep 19; Markets look ahead to a latest growth updates

 US sharemarkets were mixed in thin trade on Friday. Economic
data was also mixed. Traders squared positions at the end of the
week and the month ahead of the long weekend. The Dow Jones
rose by 41 points or 0.2%. The S&P500 index rose by 0.1% and the
Nasdaq lost 10.5 points or 0.1%. Over the week the Dow rose 3%,
the S&P 500 lifted 2.8% and the Nasdaq rose by 2.7%.
