Welcome Back to The Castro Files. Eastern State Penitentiary was one of the most brutal prisons to be built. Opening more than 180 years ago, it was known for its strict rules, solitary confinement, and designed to inspire penitence. Eastern State held some of the most hardened criminals, and now that it's closed, some of those inmates may still be roaming the halls. You can, if you dare, take a tour of the facility.
