Economic Insights 24 Jun 21: Shares and property help push household wealth to a new record high

Total household wealth rose 4.3% in the March quarter to reach a new record of $12,664.5 billion. Over the last year, factors like record low interest rates and a strong recovery in the job market have helped push the value of shares and property higher. As a result, household wealth has risen by 15.3% in the last year – the strongest growth since 2010. Wealth per person rose to a new record high of $492,055.
