Welcome to our guest today, Catherine Mupoperi-Mukasa, owner of Mukanya Health and Holistic Wellbeing, Pittsburg, Pennsylvania.
Catherine Mupoperi-Mukasa a Registered nurse with certification in Whole Health Education/Coaching. I grew up in Zimbabwe in a large family. I enjoyed cooking and was always concerned about the well-being of my relatives so caring for people comes naturally to me. I became a nurse because I wanted to gain an understanding of health conditions in my own health and others close to me. I still have a lot to learn, and the best way to get better at what you are learning is to teach it. I love to help people learn more about themselves and trust that when given the right information they can make the right decisions for themselves.
I am a registered nurse with experience in med-surge and long-term care. I have certification in patient whole health education from the National Institute of Whole Health. I also have a master’s degree in Adult and Community Education.
I understand how frustrating it can be when you feel like you are doing the best you can and still do not see improvements in your health because I have been there. I suffered from anxiety for most of my life and carried a lot of shame for not knowing why I was feeling the way I did. When I got better, I decided to continue learning more about the interactions between mind, body, spirit, and the environment and share as much as I could with others who might be feeling frustrated about the state of their health.
In today’s episode, you will hear how my own health scan is discussed with potential areas of improvement for my overall health and wellbeing. It was an enlightening process into how environmental factors, our diet, and our mindset impact our physical and emotional health.
