““How do you hack your dopamine to get inspired and motivated to work?” - this is a question I received from Jenny.
If you have the same question as Jenny, then this episode is for you!
In this episode of the ADHD Refresh Podcast, I share some info about the connection between ADHD and dopamine. Dopamine helps you feel good and it is part of our chemical reward system. ADHDers can sometimes struggle with motivation because of a lack of dopamine - which is the reward center of the brain. Many people wait to feel inspired. The reality is, you cannot wait to feel inspired– instead, you can do some hacks so you can stimulate more dopamine into your system.
What you’ll find in today’s episode:
Key takeaways:
Life’s reality is this– you will never be inspired and motivated 100% of the time. You cannot always wait for inspiration to kick in before you start working on your dreams. You have to be able to implement habits that will release dopamine into your system. The more dopamine you have, the better you feel. The more dopamine, the more rewarding it feels. The more rewarding it is, the more you want to do something again to give you more of that good feeling.
If you’ve reached this far, then you are well on your way of discovering the power of understanding yourself and being creative to find solutions that work for you. It isn’t up to anyone else. You need to know yourself and be able to navigate your brain like the Powerful CEO that you are.
