Ukip leadership fiasco ‘symbolic’ of Ukip politics – Carthy

MEPs in the European Parliament have been reacting to the resignation last night of the newly-elected leader of the UK Independence Party - Ukip. Diane James announced she was stepping down as leader after just eighteen days in the post. The former Ukip chief Nigel Farage is stepping in as interim-leader until a new boss can be found. The Sinn Fein MEP Matt Carthy says the failure of Ukip to find a new leader reflects internal disarray within the party.
