God is a God of revelation. God wants to be known by humans, and reveals God's self to us. But this revelation also requires action by us. Pastor Phil suggested that the gift of revelation means nothing if we do not respond with repentance. In Acts 2:14a, 36-41, those who heard Peter preach the gospel message were grieved and repented. Their way of thinking was changed. They came to see Jesus differently. But repentance means little without a change of direction. The people in Acts 2 made a life shift and began to devote their lives to the teaching of the gospel and to life in this new community.
