Morning Report 1 Jul 20: Stocks end June Quarter on a positive note

US sharemarkets rose on Tuesday as investors weighed better than expected economic data against virus and China trade concerns. Micron Technology shares rose 4.8% after a solid earnings report. Boeing shares slid 5.8% after Norwegian Air cancelled orders for 97 aircraft. The Dow Jones index gained 217 points or 0.9%. The S&P500 index rose by 1.5%. The Nasdaq index was higher by 184 points or 1.9%. The Dow (+17.8%) and S&P 500 (+20%) posted their best quarterly returns since 1997 and 1998, respectively. The Nasdaq was up 30.6% its biggest quarterly gain since 1999.
