When our kids come to the earth, their VOICES are BIG. ROAR. Expressing feelings is as natural as breathing. Yet, kids start feeling less comfortable with their emotions at some point. Fear, anger, jealousy, worry, doubt can cause suffering. And even Juicy JOY leaking out at the “wrong” time can cause people to silence kids. Squeals of delight in a restaurant are frowned upon. No more stomping when courage is needed. No more tears when overwhelm swallows us. We are trained to sit still and behave if we want to do well. And slowly, we watch as our kid’s vibrant expression shrinks. Their ROAR gets stuck. Confidence dwindles.
